Blogspot now

Okay, I'm making the move.  Xanga has been having issues, so I am switching.  My posts and pics can now be found at www.mikahooper.blogspot.com.

Thanks for being interested in our family.  Hopefully it will be easier for me to update now.

9 years later...

family 040 family 051 family 050 family 045 Happy Anniversary to Us!  October 9th was our 9 year wedding anniversary.  What an accomplishment!  To celebrate, Saturday Jerr borrowed Glen's jeep and made me a cd of "driving" music.  We drove up Rich Mt. and listened to music.  The weather was perfect.  We ate at the lodge (without children!!!) and then drove back down as the sun set.  The moon and stars were out...it was amazing.  For some reason I always thought of romantic as getting dressed up and being fancy.  But this was by far the most romantic anniversary so far.  Maybe that's just because we have 3 kids now and that changes my perspective.  But it sure was nice to have some alone time...even if it was just 2 hours.

So, 9 years, 3 kids, 1 mini van, and 50 pounds later...I am still happy with my best friend.  He is the love of my life and spoils me rotten...I wouldn't have it any other way.

Finally Some Pics

265 264 274 273 272 The top two were the first day of school.  In the middle is just one of the many ways I find the kids in the morning.  Gaven is freezing on the top bunk because his blanket is falling off the bed.  And Viv has scooted to the end of that large bed.  Notice the glove being flung to the middle of the floor...which is the first thing she asks for when she wakes up. The bottom two pics are Eden at 10 weeks.  She is still the most incredible baby...so happy.  I really couldn't ask for better.  I just look at my precious family and could cry...I am so blessed!!!  What an amazing job to be a mom to these beautiful, amazing kids.  This week I was given a piece of advice...to parent on purpose, not just as life happens.  That sounds great, but is harder than it sounds because we tend to get so busy with everyday life.  But I am determined not to look back on this time and regret not being more "on purpose" with this time.

One Down...

The first week of school is over.  Both kids did exceptionally well.  We got great teachers, so that helps so much.  Both Vivie and Gaven are learning and loving it.  Vivie has been pretty tired, but her little body should get back on schedule pretty soon.  Eden and I spent the week at home or running errands.  I actually got quite a bit done.  This week we're launching our business...Tidy Whities' Laundry Service.  Hopefully it will be just enough work to help us get ahead in our finances, yet allow me to stay at home with my kidos.

Jerr took Gaven to sign up for soccer today.  He's been waiting all summer!  We can't wait to see him play...he is so fast, now if he can just learn the rules.

She's Here!

Mika and eden small Viv and eden Small Gav and eden small So much excitement.  Eden was born Thursday, June 19th at 2:58pm.  She weighed 8 lbs.even (now she is 7 lbs. 10 oz.), and was 20 inches long.  She has a full head of dark hair ( it looks like she has blonde highlights, so I'm sure she'll be a blondy), and beautiful skin.  Just like Mary Poppins, she's "practically perfect in every way."  It was such an amazing feeling to have Dr. Beckel come in with a big smile on his face to tell us that she was perfectly healthy...not even any jaundice.  After having a doctor in Memphis tell us he was concerned about her eyes two weeks ago..it was a big relief.  She is such a joy to our whole family.  The kids can't get enough time holding her.

One of my favorite Viv sayings...after Eden was born and Viv was holding her for the first time she said "she's so cute...she's so cute...oh, she's so cute..(pause)..Mom, is she cute?"  She thought for sure she was, but had to make sure she was right...too funny.

I'll try to post more recent pics soon.  I'm still trying to adjust to the crazy world of three kids right now.
